This one needs JavaScript — it is an object rather than a document, and there is no article underneath it standing in for the thing.

It is a Rubik's cube whose six colours are six media. Not one cell is a photograph. Scroll to turn the whole cube; hold and drag across a face to twist a layer. Scrambling mixes media that never share a surface — solving it sorts all fifty-four back:

• 00000001 · Clocks — nine cities, all running.
• 00000010 · Dither — grey made only of black and white, drifting.
• 00000011 · Pattern — nine plotters, none repeating.
• 00000100 · Words — nine words, set in the heaviest thing available.
• 00000101 · Pulse — nine squares stepping, quantised, never easing.
• 00000110 · Static — one-bit noise, which is the oldest screen there is.
